Executive President

Joana Ferreira

She is a Learning & Development Specialist at a leading international women's health company. She holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering.

Her passion for teaching in the medical field is driven by a deep-seated commitment to making a difference in women's healthcare access worldwide. Her vision is to contribute meaningfully, even in small ways, to the global enhancement of healthcare services for women. In June 2024, one year after her first voluntary experience in São Vicente Island, Joana co-founded Cuida d'bo alongside Miguel and Ana Rita.

Miguel Louro

Vice President​

Miguel Louro

He holds a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management. In 2019 he moved to Cape Verde and founded the Volunturismo São Vicente project, which combines volunteering with sustainable tourism. He currently works as a consultant for SMEs and manages Palopianos travel agency, which promotes sustainable tourism in the PALOP (Portuguese-speaking African countries).​

As a founding member of Cuida d'bo, he is committed to applying his experience in management, project development, and sustainability to significantly contribute to the promotion of women's health in African countries​

Ana Rita Fontes

General Secretary​

Ana Rita Fontes

She is a Biomedical Engineer, with a specialisation in Clinical Engineering, where she explored how management and engineering principles can be applied to healthcare delivery and innovation. She works as an IT consultant, accustomed to a daily routine of problem-solving and delivering solutions efficiently and creatively—skills she considers fundamental to the creation of Cuida d’bo.

During a trip to Cabo Verde she encountered the origins of this project and could not remain indifferent, given her strong beliefs in healthcare access and women's rights.

Fundraising

Maria Sousa

She studied economics with a focus on developing economies and worked five years at European Institutions. Currently, she is engaged in real estate investment and enjoys traveling the world.

Her passion for philanthropy has driven her to participate in several volunteer projects. The potential of Cuida d'bo to save lives and improve women’s health caught her attention, as it aligns with her commitment to supporting women's empowerment.

Communications

Ana Mula

She holds a bachelor's degree in Audio-visual Communication and Advertising and a master’s degree in Communication for Development. She focused her early career on producing multimedia content for various media outlets but soon embarked on the world of international NGOs and acquire new skills to address social issues through effective communication strategies.

She specialised in the implementation of communication strategies for international cooperation projects. Her priority remains that her work contributes to promoting inclusive and sustainable social progress.

Jéssica Ribeiro

Health Initiatives

Jéssica Ribeiro

She holds a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and has been working in the pharmaceutical industry since 2018, currently as Medical Healthcare Specialist in Breast and Gynecological cancer.

In 2024 she embraced international volunteering and was inspired by the remarkable Cabo Verdean women. This experience led her to join Cuida d'bo, where she is dedicated to enhancing access to medical appointments and exams for vulnerable women, and to positively shaping the national healthcare ecosystem.
