VOLUNTEER WITH US

At Cuida d’bo, we believe in the power of community and collective action to create meaningful change. If you share our commitment to integrity, collaboration, and the right to healthcare, there’s a place for you here.

Our long-term goal is to create employment opportunities within our organisation, but for now, we operate on a voluntary basis. As we grow, we are committed to strengthening our team and laying the foundation for future opportunities.

We currently have no open vacancies, but we always welcome spontaneous applications. If you’d like to contribute your skills and time, send your CV and a brief motivation statement to humanresources@cuidadbo.org—we’d love to hear from you!

We also offer the chance for those passionate about our mission to join our in-field volunteer programme.

We partner with Volunturismo, an initiative launched in 2019 that combines voluntary work with sustainable tourism on São Vicente island. In collaboration with local and international NGOs, Volunturismo creates a unique blend of meaningful volunteer experiences and responsible tourism, with a strong focus on respecting local identities and cultures.

Through their programmes, you can actively contribute to our on-the-ground activities while fostering personal connections and supporting community resilience.

For more information about the programmes, pricing, and other details, please visit their website

We seek volunteers from diverse backgrounds. Although we particularly welcome individuals with medical expertise, we are open to volunteers from all fields who share our values and are committed to getting involved in our awareness-raising campaigns.

If you are interested, please fill out the form below. Volunturismo will contact you to complete the official registration process.

VOLUNTEERING STORIES

Lígia & Teresa

Volunteers in March 2024

“Volunteering to raise awareness of breast cancer was an incredibly rewarding and life-changing experience. This cause involved us in a significant way and showed us the importance of awareness and the importance of early detection through self-examination.

We had the opportunity to take part in various awareness-raising activities in schools, prisons and door-to-door, noting the involvement of local people, asking questions and being willing to book preventive examinations.

Every moment with this community was an opportunity to learn, grow and contribute in some way to making a difference. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to such a meaningful cause.”

“Cuida d’bo is a very important and complete project: passing on/reminding people of information, leaving contacts for possible help and socialising!

I’ve always identified with this type of project, even though it’s not my field, because I also learn and do the things I like best: talk to other people and get to know new realities.

Looking for possible misinformation, helping with self-screening, showing willingness to listen to cases and life stories is one of the aims of this project. And I think that goal is achieved by each and every volunteer!

Cuida d’bo is a huge success with the people around it and improves with every volunteer.

Cuida d’bo will stay in a little piece of my heart!”
